I would take the Sig because Kimber uses MIM parts and are made in the anti gun state of New York.
with all the different models of Kimber tactical and the different sig target models all I can give you is general information I feel the sigs are a little better made than the Kimber . pure 1911 people don't like the non standard extractor on the sig. but really in the end they are both nice guns and you should be happy with either one now if you want to post with 2 specific models of the Kimber and the sig I could give you more specific information on the pros and cons of each
They are close in features and function Randall. In my opinion the Sig has a better frame/slide fit and a slightly better trigger. Accuracy is a dead even heat between the two. Either would make you happy so it really boils down to personal choice if price is not the determining factor.
All production 1911s use some MIM parts (maybe not the true custom guns) good article on MIM parts https://www.gunnuts.net/2013/03/18/the-truth-about-mim/
Had both. Competed with both and the SIGs have never been any problem. Cannot say the same about the Kimbers. Seems quality control is spotty.
I own both. I think my Kimber Tactical shoots much more accurate then my Sig personally.
