I appreciate everyone on their thoughts and quick response on my question maybe I should ask it this way my Ruger American 45 ACP states that it can handle plus P munition all day long because it was built to handle it so my question would be I understand they can handle plus ammunition but can they sustain it day after day out without harming the gun, more importantly are these pistols manufactured to handle the hot loads day in day out.. Hi Matthew, Glad we could help you. Yes it can withstand all day. Ruger's Owner's Manual Advice About +P Ammo ---- Ruger advises in the owner's manual, which you should always read any time you get a new gun, that you can shoot +P ammo through the Security 9mm handgun with the understanding that you will accelerate wear and tear. No gun makers state that you should fire +P+ ammo in their guns(warranty support reasons). This review tested Buffalo Bore +P+ ammo without issue.
