Chris, most folks seem to be using 3" or 2.75" High Brass loads which are full charge loads. You may want to disassemble, clean and lube all friction points (anywhere you see metal marks or wear) and try again. I see several youtube videos of folks shooting all sorts of rounds without issue. I agree with James G's answer also. There was a younger shooter at my range having similar issues with his. He was using low recoil ammo because it was on sale. While looking at it, and offering him some of my ammo to try, I noted it was assembled with much heavier lube than I use.
