I also own on and it came with a cardboard box not a hard case the only Taurus I have that came in a plastic case was my pt1911

Hi Stephen, 50% of Taurus Firearms come in a Black Cardboard Box. It's weird that some come with the plastic case and sometimes they come in the black cardboard. I guess it depends on the day with that company.

Manufacturers make changes all the time. Taurus isn't the only one to make this change, Springfield, Sig, Kimber, Ruger, S&W - all of them ship some of their models in cardboard boxes these days. It's just cheaper.
