I would take the ruger gp100 ruger is great at standing behind their products and the GP100s (in all calibers) are built like tanks and the price difference will buy a lot of 22lr ammo
the only other thing I will say is I like the balance of the shorter GP100 4.5 inch barrel over the 5.5 https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/411557983/Ruger+1766+GP100+22LR+4.2+DA
Zachary, these both are fine pistols. Your decision should be based on usage. I am guessing target, plinking and maybe small game. I would stick with the 5.5" or 6" barrel of the GP100 or 617. I own a 617 so I may come off as a little biased. It is accurate, reliable and a joy to shoot. I am sure the GP100 is also. Since they are similar, I would take a trip to a local dealer and handle both to see which feels best to you. There is no bad choice here, they are neck and neck.
Hi Zachary, these both are excellent firearms. I would go with the Ruger GP100.
