Hi Elvin, The DPMS G2 series is the lightest, most reliable, most technically advanced .308 Winchester modern sporting rifle available. DPMS went back to the drawing board and designed a .30 caliber AR the way customers demanded it. Rearward of the receiver, the rifle is dimensioned identically to an AR-15. This means the entire rifle is lighter, more compact, and easier to haul around. Additionally DPMS made multiple improvements to the bolt and carrier group as well. A reduced diameter carrier further decreases weight, and the integral gas key is bombproof.
