Hi James, There should be no wobble at all. The Colt 6920 is pretty tightly fitted which is good.

This is totally normal for ARs and machined parts in general. Its called tolerance. These parts are machined to a specific size +- some tolerance. If your pins and receiver halves are on the large side of the tolerance level, there will be play. I have a lot of ARs. Some are noticeably wobbly, others are so tight a rubber mallet is needed to seat the rear pin. Performance is not affected in either case. Shoot it and enjoy sir, you'd be surprised how wobbly or annoyingly tight these things can be :) If the wobble really bothers you, there is a $2.00 piece of plastic you can drop in your lower to eliminate the play. It's called an Acu-wedge.

The higher quality rifles should have no wobble when they come out of the box. The mating parts being aluminum though will loosen over the years as you shoot and abuse it.
