It would seem the 999244 has a slightly longer barrel according to the actual photo.

This model, the 044, uses the witness classic magazines, pre 2005. Different mags.

Basically the same pistol but both are out of production.

I believe its small frame vs large frame. The 999044 is the small frame allowing for conversion kits. I do not believe this is possible with the large frame 999244.
