William, The easiest way is to remove the slide, turn it upside down. With the barrel opening to you left as you are look down on the slide. On the right side of the slide (rear) there should be a notch (sort of a small half circle) cut into the slide. It may or may not be coated with a protective finish. On my P320 which was an earlier model, I had to send it back to the factory for the upgrade. The notch in mine does not have any protective coating. There are several other changes made to the original P320, but the slide notch is the easiest to see if one is not familiar with all the differences between the original and updated version. I highly doubt that you have an older model, especially if you bought it from Buds as their inventory turns over fairly quickly with popular gun models.
