You are correct on all counts Gregory. the mag will sit flush, most 1911 9mm have a 9rd capacity being single stack and I agree that 9rds instead of an even 10rd magazine is sort of ridiculous.

The 9mm 1911 full size with a flush fit magazine has always been 9+1. We take our "Barney" (named after Barney Fife the sheriff on Andy of Mayberry who was allowed 1 bullet) magazine and load 1 round into the chamber then drop it and put a fully loaded magazine in so you have 9+1. The 10 round magazines need to extend slightly below the grip and are 10+1 and do not conceal as well because they print under your shirt.

the mag only holds 9 rounds and will fit flush to load 10 in the gun you load 9 in mag insert mag cycle action on gun (loading chamber) then remove mag add another round to mag and reinsert mag
