Randi, only a "Coupon Code" can be entered above your Cart. Once you select payment option with the Gift Card option included, just cut and past your Gift Card code from the "View my Gift cards" from your account page. This should work. Buds may be have a temporary issue as I had problems using gift cards yesterday as well. Buds can help at LiveChat (available from 9AM to 9PM 7 days a week), the "Blue Chat Now" bottom at the bottom right of the page at 9 EST this morning, or phoning at (859) 368-0371 (available 9AM to 9PM EST Monday through Friday).
