I recently asked if Glock 19 magazines could be used in Glock 26 handguns. Now I'm asking are different generation Glock handgun magazines interchangeable in different generation handguns? For example can one use a generation 4 Glock 19 magazine in a generation 3 Glock 26 handgun?

Most Glock Magazines are interchangeable between "Generations" Ray.  ***Note*** Just be mindful of older magazines with the mag catch notch on one side as it will not function in an opposite mag release setup.

Yes, all generation Glock 19 magazines will fit and function properly in any generation Glock 26. Personally, I do recommend carrying an extra Glock 19 magazine with your Glock 26!

Ray, they sure will. I pack a Glock 27 for work(Law Enforcement) and keep a Glock 22 mag as a spare. The model 27 is a Generation 3 and the Model 22 is a generation 4. I also run a Gen 4 Glock 35 for USPSA competition shooting and use generation 3 and 4 mags and they function great. If you want good quality mags, check out Magpul's line of Glock magazines.
