Absolutely, 100%. All my firearms have them including rifles, pistols and shotguns. Trust me, your eyes will thank you in the long run Larry. It is usually best and less expensive to get night sights on the firearm from the jump than to add them later.

I don't own a gun with night sights and find the to be of no real value I like fiber sight on my range guns but on my carry guns I just have standard 3 dot or mark the front sight with white paint the distances I would be shooting at in self defense I can do fine with NO sights. and at night in my home I prefer my shotgun

I have to agree with James. I have two Sig 320s … a compact for my "house gun" and a sub-compact that I carry. Both have night sights. For self defense you must give yourself every advantage possible. I have returned both for the Sig safety recall, then added APEX flat trigger / transfer bar kits and TALON grip covers. Whatever it takes to make my self defense guns work better, shoot better or just to improve my confidence in them. Night sights work without question, you can see them better … are they worth the extra cost? … you bet your life they are!

Larry, The answer regarding night sights is sort of a mixed bag. I have 9 hand guns with night sights and another 13 without. Most of the ones are barely visible in daylight and visibility at night varies dramatically between them. what I've found that works best for me is the combo Fiber Optic/Tritium night sights. The FO is very visible in daylight and the Tritium glows thru the FO rod at night making them a little more visible that traditional Tritium-only night sights. A third option, is the sights that glow for several hours after being exposed to light. Generally they are not sold commercially (that I'm aware of) but you can buy the phosphorus paint to do your self. I've tried it and it works very well as long as you expose the sights to light. They sights will glow from 2 to 4 hours depending on the type and intensity of light exposure.

Hello Larry, if you plan on using it for personal defense or a home defense pistol, night sights are almost a must have. It makes for incredibly easy sight alignment in low light situations. Hope that helps!
