Interested in purchasing a Taurus 617 model revolver from Buds, also what the cost to have it Ported or is that is an option. In addition i know the revolver will handle 38 Special ammo but there is no mention about handling 38 Plus P. Most manufactures mention their products handling 38 plus-P ammo when advertising.

Hi Ron, Buds currently does not offer a porting option. This pistol is a 357Magnum (which all will handle the much less powerful 38 Plus P ammunition). Buds will not port it I suggest that you contact Magna port the cost would be around $100 It will be fine wit +p loads as it is a .357
