Jake, this model does indeed have the 'Internal Lock" inside the Grip.

from what I understand they stopped putting them in around 2013-2014 time frame I suggest calling Ruger to be 100% sure Telephone: 336-949-5200 I will call ruger to find out and post back here

My prior post is correct I spoke with Ruger service department on the Blackhawk revolver. Ruger stopped installing the internal locks in 2013 so this model DOES NOT HAVE the internal lock
