Mike, chrome lined is used to extend the barrel shoot life and is slightly less accurate. It was used for military quantity of shooting, mostly full auto. The standard barrel will be slightly more accurate and will last well with regular shooting. Chrome, longer life and less accurate and Standard, slightly less barrel life and more accurate. So it will depend on which benefit is more important to you.

Personally, most of my rifles are non chrome lined. I have no issues and prefer the accuracy.

If you clean and take care of it almost any barrel will last you a life time A standard barrel that is cared for will out last a Chrome barrel that is abused
