David- According to the manufacturers web site, this gun can shoot 5.56. That means it can also shoot 223 rem also. Always remember that a gun that a weapon stamped in 223 rem, it CANNOT safely shoot 5.56, but a gun stamped in 5.56 can safely shoot 223 rem also. Allot of people do not get this right. So yes, you are good for 5.56 or 223 rem.
