Hi Jeffrey, this is a "357 Magnum" Pistol that will fire to lower power 38Special and 38Special Plus P rounds with no issues.

Jeff … +P means that it's a high pressure .38 Special load. The .357 Magnum is a longer, much higher pressure derivative of the .38 Special made by making the cases longer and adding more powder. Both the .38 and .357 can be loaded with the same "bullets". Any guns labeled .357 Magnum can safely fire any .38 Special load from standard target loads to +P or even +P+ law enforcement loads. But you cannot fire .357 Magnums in guns intended and labeled .38 Special … the case length would be too long.
