Justin, Delton states trigger pull is 5.5lbs average. The trigger pull is proper mil-spec; you can feel the overtravel when you dry-fire, but when actually shooting, you don't.

Justin, If the Del-Ton is per Mil-Spec it should be approximately 8.5lbs (per Army training manual). The vast majority of AR manufacturers use the Mil-Spec standards (and design plans) as they are in the public domain and free to use/copy. Custom/high end models and manufacturers modify these standards to meet their own marketing objectives. Del-Ton manufacturers good quality ARs that follow Mil-Specs. The reason the Army specs such a high (relatively speaking) trigger weight is you don't want some young 18 -20 year old running around with a 3 pound hair trigger in a combat situation. On the bright side, because of the way one holds/grips an AR you don't really notice the trigger pull weight. Precision/competitive shooters usually add a lighter weight trigger (2.5 pound and up), You can buy these drop in triggers anywhere from $90 and on up and only take minutes to install.
