No they are not interchangeable. The .38 Super is rimless case for automatic pistols. The .38 Special is a rimmed case designed for revolvers.

no the 38 special ha a rimmed case. the rim sits (headspaces) on the edge of the cylinder the 38 super is rimless and headspaces on the mouth of the case
