Hunt ethically. More punch means more forgiving shot placement. Some states require a set amount of energy as well as some might not allow pistols in general (assuming your not using a carbine, anyway)

I would never use a 9mm for deer hunting I have seen to many injured deer attempting to be put down by law enforcement with good quality hollow points to ever think that it would be a ethical hunting round
