Looking to purchase my first shot gun.  Would like a gun that has a great deal of versatility.  One activity I am interested in getting more involved with is trap shooting.  Can i use the beretta comp 1301 on the trap range?

I believe at 24" s you wouldn't be able to use it for serious trap competition. If just for recreational fun without competition, it would be fine. You will want a 28" or 30" barrel for competition.

You're looking in the right place,  Beretta makes great shot guns.  I would agree with Jason though,  you're gonna want a longer barrel.
