I'm assuming you have to fully purchase the firearm before buds will accept the FFL dealer you have chosen right? Also does buds have a database/archive of accepted FFL dealers? More specifically what is the timeframe from purchasing the gun to actually having the firearm in your selected FFL dealer?

You don't James. During the checkout process you are asked to select an FFL based on your Zip Code. If you want an FFL that is not listed you can still checkout/layaway and contact your FFL to send their info to Buds by email or Fax at FFL@BudsGunShop.com or Fax : 1-800-804-5569 .  The speed of your order to FFL will depend on payment method. Credit Cards process fastest and average 5 days to your FFL for handguns. & days for rifles since they ship ground service.
