I'm a competitive shooter and get to play with lots of new toys and watch what happens with many others. The best and most reliable AR you could get is a 16 inch carbine with a mid length gas system, full auto bolt, M-4 feed ramps, 1:7, 4150 steel barrel, floating keylock hand guard and an enhanced trigger in the 3 pound range (probably have to buy and add the trigger).
