Hi Michael, since no one seems to own this on here, I would ask at the Remington 1911 owners forum at https://forums.1911forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=73

Rack the slide back and see if there is a .065" hole through the guide rod. If there is straighten out a paper clip and put a 90 degree bend in it about .100 long and stick it in this hole. Then remove the slide and you should be able to remove the guide rod and spring as a unit.
