It's laminate, so it's very strong, but will scratch or dent like any other wood stock. I have the model 12 with the same stock, 4 years now and it's holding up fine.

Irv, Laminate is much stronger than a plain wood stock by a good margin. The design is for flare but should be plenty strong and durable on this platform/cartridge.
