I would assume it can work for an 1894, provided the correct mounts and rings are used. Unfortunately, I really don't know what the correct ones would be in this case, since I am no expert on optics. You can try getting in contact with Winchester though, they should be able to verify the correct mount and rings to use for this kind of scope.
