In my experience with 1911s there are no drop in barrels (or any other part) you may put it in and it work but unless you know how to check the lockup of the barrel it may be unsafe
Winford, there is a high probability that this will work as a "Drop In" on a Colt Government Model without any issues. Colts seem to be the mold barrel makers use for barrels.
Usually 1911 barrels at the very least require some removal of material on the hood to get the slide to close and may require fitting of the legs that contact the slide stop. After firing the first shot (use a case with a primer only in it) be certain the primer was struck in the center. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0a4XeJn35g
