Beau, as long as you a quality BCG from a reputable maker, this should not be a factor in the AR platform. Always test for reliability, even with the stock BCG anyway.
Tolerances in the industry are supposed to be kept at a minimum so there is 100% interchangeability but I've seen instances where head space was badly compromised from out of spec parts. If you have access to head space gauges check it after you change the bolt. I have never seen a high quality bolt group give problems though.
