That is the question. I don't know and haven't tried to ask Buds what Marlins their selling right, i.e. what year, how old etc. Things have improved I hear, but??? I am tipping toward a JM or even a Winchester (about the same $ as a JM. Thoughts anyone??

Jack, my opinion would be to get the JM. I put great stock in past performance of a manufacturer as well as current performance of their products and JM would be the most heavily overall rated in my book.

The marlins from 2017 and newer have been reported very good quality. The JM will cost more, but it's a toss up
