The pistol and barrel will handle the hard cast bullets just fine I would just keep checking and watching fro leading of the barrel (may require more cleaning)

Christopher, this pistol will handle the Underwood ammunition in moderation. It has the proper case support to fire these. Older 1911's without fully supported chambers would be the issue.
