Hi Stanley, a 9" to 13" adjustment range should be about right to clear up to the 25rd magazine : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/712015997/CW+PREMIUM+9-13+PIC+RAIL+BIPOD
The question is hard to answer as we don't know what you are going to do with the rifle you could spend $200 on a harris bi-pod set up (one of the best) but if you are plinking and just having fun a $24.00 NcStar may be the best (its a good bi-pod) here is the NcStar https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/79101/NCStar+APBGF2+ABPGF%2F2+Bipod+Size+7-11

Well, that is subjective. It all depends on what you like and what purpose the firearm will be used for. Im not sure if youd like something light or heavy.
