Ryan, I don't personally own the Mauser M18 but have shot one in 308. the Mauser Action in incredibly smooth and positive front to rear slide action. It was actually much smoother than my Remington Sendero. Mauser's also puts a sub-MOA guarantee on this rifle and the 308 I shot was .75MOA all day long with OutBack 150gr Scirroco ammunition. I don't think there is anything to worry about here.
