Dennis, The 450 Marlin is a formidable round capable of killing anything in North America and so can be said the same for the 45/70 with proper loads. The differences are of course less in a pistol compared to a rifle favoring the 450 Marlin. The Magnum Research Pistols are a time proven brand/design and my personal choice in a pistol or rifle would be the 450 Marlin.
