Normally true Michael but, the quality/rifling type of the barrel is a major factor as well. A quality shorter barrel can be just as accurate as a longer barrel with the longer barrel generally giving higher velocity to carry that accuracy out to longer distances.

a stiffer shorter barrel can be better than a long whippy barrel the shorter sighting plane is not a disadvantage if you are using optics in short a good quality barrel can be super accurate no despite the shorter length
