Aaron, you can expect this O/U to have moderately good patterning right out of the box. Mine was good for field work but, there are better within the Hatfield line of shotguns. It is hard to beat given the price.

Every shotgun and choke combination is different that being said it should be ok for must field work. you may get one that is great or you may get one not so good also of concern is where the barrels converge By this I mean where do the two barrel cross as the bottom barrel will be slanting slightly upwards this point should be 35-40 yards away It may also pattern good with one choke tube installed and not with another so the only real way to know is shoot lots of patterns with specific choke/gun and ammo loads
