it will depend on what you want to do with the shotgun. the only uses I know of for the rear sights in a shotgun are Turkey hunting, Deer with slugs and 3 gun competitions. If you are wing shooting and almost all other shotgun uses you should be looking at the target and if the gun is mounted properly the sights are unnecessary if you are looking at the sight you will miss a moving target this from 40 years of competing with a shotgun in skeet and trap also a former member of the USN shooting team (Skeet)

Sights are great on shotguns and most just have a front sight as the pattern of the pellets is wide enough to negate the need for a rear sight. However, if this shot gun has removable choke tubes or the barrel is made as a "cylinder" type choke it is intended to shoot slugs or buckshot. With this type of ammo, a front and read sight is much better as the slug in particular will shoot more like a rifle round and aiming is more important. For the front sight, I would recommend a fiber optic type sight in you choice of color. They are relative inexpensive and you can buy different colored replacement fiber filaments,. One of the things you have to consider is that since the shotgun did not come with a front sight, it is even drilled and tapped (threaded) for one? If not that is something that needs to be done, probably by a gunsmith.
