Over the past 3 years, at least, Bud's Guns has sold a lot of unissued MP40s. To me, it seems like a fine weapon. However I am wondering why so many police departments seem to be unloading unissued weapons? Is there a problem with the weapon that I need to be aware of?

Over the past 3 years, at least, Bud's Guns has sold a lot of unissued MP40s. To me, it seems like a fine weapon.  However I am wondering why so many police departments seem to be unloading unissued weapons?  Is there a problem with the weapon that I need to be aware of?

Many departments have switched backed to the 9mm thanks to the latest FBI recommendations. This makes for a huge surplus of .40cal

Fine gun. I have one of the police trade in M&P 40C used but it looked new  and I have shoot a couple 100 rounds through it and no problems. I did change out the sights but that's it . If I can rake up enough money before they are all gone I like to get one of the full size 40's.
