Yes Rocky, this rifle has a 23" Cold Hammer Forged Alloy Steel Barrel that is Threaded 1/2"x24 TPI with a 1:10" Twist Rate with 6 Grooves and "Removable" Screw on/off Ruger Muzzle Brake System. yes it has a threaded on muzzle brake and no it does not come with a thread protector include thread size is 1/2X24 TPI
