Not true at all! Any legal resident is allowed to purchase and own firearms in the USA. Even visa holders staying longer then 90 days are allowed. You only need to abide by your states laws.

The U.S. supreme court even once ruled illegal immigrants (that's correct, I said illegal) have the right to own and buy firearms. So as a legal resident or visa holder staying longer then 90days, you are allowed provided you are not on drugs, a convicted felon, a fugitive, or violate any other rule every other person is subjected to.

If your state requires a FOID card or a permit, you must get that. But if in a state like mine (PA), nothing is required and you may buy all the guns you like. If your local dealer tells you he can't sell to a noncitizen, find a new dealer. Because you have all the same rights as anyone else. Any legal resident, inside the USA, is protected by all the rights in the constitution same as a U.S. citizen. Buy away!

A dealer can refuse to sell a firearm to anyone they wish. It's one of the few times you can violate someone's rights and it's sanctioned by the US government.

You can buy a gun. Certainly from Bud's. That is NOT this issue here. You have to find an FFL that is willing to transfer it to you and you must comply with all the local and State laws to do so. Bottom line you need to have a conversation with your desired FFL about willingness and State/local laws.
