Ok i chambered a round and then decocked the gun and then i tried to pull trigger back manually for a single action trigger pull and the gun wouldnt let me do it i had to fire from double action after decocking ??

This is exactly correct Kevin. Decocking unloads the trigger.

just took out of safe  mine to check. in the decock position it will nit fire either SA or DA if you push the safety/decocker back into the up position it will fire DA or you can pull back the hammer and fire SA
