Melvin, the Model 60 .357 will dump spent .38 cases cleanly, but is not as good at dumping .357 cases. It looks like the ejector rod is the correct length for a .38, being just long enough to push the spent case clear of the cylinder. You would need to go with a 2.5 length barrel minimum for clean 357Mag case cylinder clearance.
