Yes it will Mollie to both. If you actually meant higher power/pressure ammunition then no. Just standard and not +P ammunition.

They designed the 45 Long Colt to stop men with the original black powder lead bullet load and John Browning designed the 45 ACP for his 1911 pistol to mimic this loading. Your pistol will not handle modern defense loads but it doesn't have to. It is already a proven man stopper.
