Jim, Sights are simple to replace. They are just dovetailed in. No tool but hammer and punch to drive old one out. .500 rear and .250 front. Any sight you can use on a S&W Shield or M&P will work you can use on the SD9VE. New sights may have allen screw fastener. Look at Ameriglo SW245 i dot. BUDS number 2141. Put them on my SD9VE & SD40VE. They are such a great gun for S&W's value entry.
Jim, these are dove tailed in and held by a set screw. The set screw can be removed and the sights tapped out with a hammer and punch or wooden dowel. Smith and Wesson Shield Metal Sights can be used. https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/2141/AmeriGlo+SW245+i-Dot+Night+Sight+S%26W+M%26P+Shield+Tritium%2FPaint+Green+w%2FOrange+Ou
