Bennett, yes, the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Magazines are cross compatible. Diamondback has not upgraded the status to being +P Rated probably for both safety and warranty reasons. In fact the same verbiage is in the G2's Owners Manual [Do not use ammunition designed for "short barreled" pistols. Do not use ammunition over 124 grains. Low power ammunition and/or light-weight bullets may cause failure to feed problems due to the lack of energy needed to cycle the slide. These ammunitions are more likely to cause problems if the grip is not held firmly. Do not use steel cased ammunition due to possible premature wear on the extractor. This will void the warranty.].
