Joseph, she should get you a Buds gift card so the purchase, paperwork are all in your name. This would be the quickest, cleanest way to go about it.
the easiest way is with a Gift card then you buy it. the other way would be for you to completely buy it (including all paperwork ) then have a FFL do a transfer and your Dad the do all the paperwork again in his name I would clear this with your local ffl prior to the purchase
Joseph, To avoid a double transfer fee, background check and fees and trips to FFL a gift card would be the best way to gift a firearm. It becomes even more complicated if you live in different states.
