Ok i just got one of these but a few year later model and after firing all rounds the slide stop is not holding open and upon loading a mag in the gun going into battery is very weak like it dont want even close

Kevin, it is the follower that pushes up on the slide lock lever. Try a different magazine to make sure the mag has a strong enough spring tension to engage the slide lock. If the magazine is not the issue check the slide lock spring as well.

1st clean and lube the gun then try a new mag and different ammo 2nd make sure your thumb is not resting on the slide release ( I have this issue on some models) have a friend try the gun and see if it works for him/her 3 new slide stop lever and or trip to gunsmith
