between the cost to submit a gun and get it approved (even a different color requires it to be retested and approved) and the micro stamping law being upheld manufacturers are not getting "new" guns approved. if I am not mistaken CA also requires a magazine safety and a loaded chamber indicator not just a 10 round magazine
I think it is simply because the respective maker has not applied for approval just yet on these models. Ca does not make it easy nor inexpensive and many makers are not even bothering with it. This is of course exactly what CA wants in my opinion.
James G now that the Micro stamping requirement law has been upheld I expect to see no more New guns added to the list as the technology to meet the microstamping requirement doe not exist
A California "microstamping" law that requires new semi-automatic handguns automatically imprint bullet casings with identifying information has been upheld by the 9th circuit court of appeals in a 2:1 split decision - despite the fact that the technology doesn't exist, reports ABC News. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-08-05/ca-bullet-microstamping-law-upheld-9th-circuit-even-though-technology-doesnt-exist
