no it would be a major safety issue because the main cause of blown up 12 ga shotguns is someone putting a 20 gauge shell in it the 20 ga slides up the barrel and leaves enough room to put a 12 gauge shell in after creating a obstructed barrel if you then fire the 12 gauge you will destroy the gun and likely incur at least damage to you hand ( on the forearm)
