Armscor does not say what type of wood they are. they are nothing special I have at least 3 sets of these grips at home they are the first thing I change out on my RIA guns I suggest contacting Armscor and asking them Email: support@armscor.com Phone: (775) 537-1444 Fax: (775) 751-4425
Raymond, The Rock Island Armory 1911's are made by Armscor in the Philippines. It wouldn't surprise me if it was a local hardwood such Philippine Mahogany.. Since RIA does not specifically state the exact wood, I would ask directly at RIA/Armscor Phone: (775) 537-1444 ---- They can be made to look even better : Phone: (775) 537-1444 https://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=424584
